On Monday, January 7, 2008, I received a shiny, new Airport Extreme (and iLife '08) from MacConnection. Here are its birth photos, taken with my iPhone. Click on any photo for the full resolution original.

It took all of 10 minutes to plug in, connect, and configure the Airport, from the time I took it out of the box until I was back on-line, with my incoming ports passed through. The Airport Utility made this very painless. The drawback of a separate app, however, instead of just a web server on the router, is that you can only set up an Airport Extreme on Mac & Windows, though there may already exist a reverse engineered Linux solution. Hopefully, the Airport won't exhibit the flakiness of my old router.
