# I installed Skype 2.0. I've used Skype before on Windoze and Linux, and have played with it on my wife's Mac. Seems quite mature now. Made a SkypeOut call to my sister-in-law in Hawaii. Great sound. And they didn't charge me for the call. I may pay them $14.95 for a year of free unlimited SkypeOut calls. The 2.5 beta is available, but I'll stick with the released version until I find a need for the new features.
# ID-Design - WhatSize "is a simple tool that allows the user to quickly measure the size in bytes of a given folder and all subfolders and files within it". Free. Tiny at 1 megabyte. Works good. Sizes the folders in the order you're probably going to care about. Makes it very easy to see where your disk space is. [gazette]
# I've been using OmniWeb for my web surfing since December 17. I like it, but haven't yet decided to spring for the $15 it costs. I'm going to revert to my old standard, Firefox for a little while before I decide.
