iPhone

Wednesday, January 10, 2007

# Apple, Inc. - iPhone was the big surprise at MacWorld yesterday. Insanely great. Apple reinvents the phone. It's an all-screen iPod (except for the speaker and microphone) that's also a Cingular cell phone and an internet browser & email client. OS X inside. Switches automatically between portrait and landscape. Controlled by the touch of your finger. 4 gigs: $500, 8 gigs: $600. Requires 2-year Cingular contract. Available in June, 2007. Nicely done web integration of QuickTime video. Move over, Blackberry. You're obsolete.

A video of Steve Jobs' MacWorld keynote address announcing the iPhone and AppleTV ($300, available in February, 2007) is at apple.com/iphone/keynote. Engadget has iPhone pics from the expo floor, and story and photos from the keynote. MacRumors has lots of hi-res pics from the keynote. Cingular feature the iPhone on their cell phone service specials page.

# Engadget - The game has changed - Wall Street heard Steve's keynote loud and clear. "Ho hum," to the Apple TV, and "Yowza!" to the iPhone.
