# TrueNuff TV! - Why would you love a Mac? - video spoofs on Apple's "I'm a Mac. I'm a PC" ads. Hehe. Not safe for work. The first one, entitled "Performance", is included below. Requires Flash™ [kareema] # When I awoke this morning, and went to look at my iMac, which I had, as usual, left on overnight, its screen was jumping all over the place, as if some runaway code was writing random bits into the video RAM. It was working well enough to do a controlled shutdown, and returned to normal after reboot, but I was left with a decidedly unwarm and unfuzzy feeling. # WiredReach, Inc. - BoxCloud is a file sharing system, which, by default, stores the bits on your hard drive. They will cache the bits on their server, if you want. Cost depends on how much bandwidth you share. You can get up to 1 gig a month for free. You drag files to your user or group items in the local BoxCloud application. BoxCloud emails links to them, and they can access the files on BoxCloud's web server, which streams the bits from your machine. You use the BoxCloud application. Those you share with use only a web browser. The client works on Mac or Windows. 18.5 meg DMG. Sign-up is from the application, and took all of 1 minute to pick an id and password, and type my name and email address. They didn't verify the email address. I shared out my folder of iMac box opening photos at this URL. You'll be able to download the images whenever my machine is online and BoxCloud is running. I doubt I'll use it for much, since uploading to this site or my one of my S3 buckets is so easy, but for sharing with groups or sharing a directory that changes a lot, it would be nice to be able to do pull-only sharing, where the sharers decide which files they want, and you don't upload anything except when somebody requests it. No storage charges that way, either. Clicking the close box on the BoxCloud window caused it to forget my shares. Quitting the app from its menu did the right thing. [daringfireball]
# Last night, I had to replace the batteries on my Apple Wireless Keyboard. I replaced them last on December 8. The batteries that came with the computer lasted only two weeks. The Energizer 2500 mAh nickel metal hydride rechargeables with which I replaced them lasted for over five weeks.
