# The Icon Factory - Twitterrific is a menu bar app that makes it very easy to update your Twitter, "what am I doing now" message and to see those of your friends (or the public twitterers). Cute. Free. There's also a Twitter Dashboard Widget: Twidget. No display, just a simple update box. My Twitter ID is, of course, "imacpr0n". I doubt I'll update very often, though. Sorta silly.
# InnoTek - VirtualBox "is a family of powerful x86 virtualization products for enterprise as well as home use." A free (GPL) virtual machine. Currently hosted on Windows and Linux with a Mac version in alpha testing. [taoofmac]
# Amnesty Generator turns any HTML web widget into a Dashboard widget. I tried it with a simple HTML link, and it worked fine. "... you can place Google gadgets, Grazr RSS readers, YouTube videos and more onto your Dashboard." Free. [macnn]
# YazSoft - Speed Download is a feature-rich download manager. It lets you keep track of your downloads, allows scheduling, and always resumes interrupted transfers. They claim it works with all browsers. Worked for me with Firefox and Safari, though I had to right-click and choose to use Speed Download in Safari; it wasn't the default. Possibly pilot error on my part. I'll be trying it out over the next two or three days, dowloading the 5 gig Leopard preview from Apple's Developer site over my 60 kbyte/second DSL line. If it manages to resume the transfers as I move my iMac from work to home each day, I think it will be a keeper. $25. 21-day demo. [macminute]
