Scott McNult at The Unofficial Apple Weblog - How many windows do you have open right now? - an amazing Exposé screen shot showing literally hundreds of windows. One of the commentors did it even better. Here's my typical desk during work time: Terminal, iCal (usually hidden), Mail, iChat, Colloquy, a Finder window, Yojiimbo (usually hidden), Emacs, Firefox, EasyCrop, and Skype. And I closed EasyCrop and the Finder window right after making this screen shot. [tuaw]
# Yesterday I recommended flvThing for playing FLV files downloaded from YouTube. Well, I tried it on a Black Sabbath video last night, and it skipped the audio playback a lot. Most irritating. VLC works a lot better.
# Mats Bengtsson - Coccinella is a Jabber client with a built-in whiteboard. I haven't played with Jabber in a long time, but this looks interesting. I was able to register at jabber.org, and look around. I was not able to log in to gmail.com's chat, which I thought was Jabber-compatible.
# Gizmodo - Warm Your Gloves with Garlic Breath - gloves from Gorgonz (Flash site) that you preheat by blowing into them. And not too expensive, either, the Pro 650 Exhale costs $35.
# Mac News Network MCE ships Blu-ray drive for Mac Pro, PM G5 - 50 gigabytes on one dual-layer Blu-Ray disc. The media costs from $35 (cheapest write-once) to $75 (read-write), about the same as disk drives, but will likely last longer, and much easier to store. # Cambridge Crystallogrphic Data Centre - Mercury allows you to visualize molecular struture. There's a free version and an enhanced version, which is part of the Cambridge Structural Database System (couldn't find a price). The free version is available for Windows, IRIX, Linux (Intel), Solaris (SPARC), and OS X. [versiontracker]
