Hiker: Three-Wheeled Chair

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

# Better Motion Group - Hiker is a three-wheeled chair that you move by pushing on its pedals with your feet. Your feet don't go around in a circle as on a traditional bicycle, they move back and forth. You steer by leaning, and stop by pulling on levers that engage brakes in the rear wheels. Neat. Made in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. $2,000 Canadian. First ship in May. [gizmodo]

# GameTap - Myst Online: URU Live - available now for the Macintosh. Play free demo for a month, then $7 to $10 per month. Interesting, but not worth that much money to me. 39.1 meg installer that downloads the rest of the game on first launch, resulting in 2.1 gigs on disk (I let it download overnight). Works only on Intel Macs. Not really Mac native. Uses Wine to implement the Windows library. Plenty fast enough, though, on my 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo iMac. [macworld]
