# Apple - the MacPro is now available with eight processor cores, two 3.0 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon processors. $4,000 base price, with no options and no display. [everybody]
# Lavacat Software - Solitare XL is the nicest-looking implementation of the standard Klondike solitaire game that I've seen. Free. [iusethis]
# McSebi - Pac The Man X is an OS X implementation of the old Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man arcade games. Nicely done. Free. [iusethis]
# i use this is a repository of applications, with descriptions, opinions, and counts of people who use each application. You can view be age, popularity, or alphabetical order.
# Peepel is an on-line Ajax desktop. It has a word processor, a spreadsheet, and a calculator. It's free. Don't know how they pay for it or how much storage you get. Appears to work, though it's a little flaky. They're working on WebMaps. I couldn't find the "fill down" command in the spreadsheet, so I didn't try my standard recursive-settling-out loan repayment computation.
# Sparks at Riverdark Community Forums - TinyURL Service adds "Shrink URL" & "Shrink URL to Clipboard" options to the "Services" menu. They shrink the URL with tinyurl.com, and replace or copy to the clipboard the result. www.riverdark.net/misc/TinyURL.zip is the binary. www.riverdark.net/misc/TinyURL-src.zip is the source. Requires a restart. Install by dragging into ~/Library/Services for one user or into /Library/Services for system-wide. I had to create the /Libary/Services directory. Works good. [tuaw]
# Google Maps - My Maps is a new feature of Google Maps that allows you to annotate a map. You can add placemarks, and draw lines and polygons. Each can have a title and a description. You can list your map, making it available to Google search, or leave it unlisted, and send the private URL only to those you want to see it. Very nice.
# FastMac - TruePower AC Adapter - finally, a tough, inexpensive, replacement for the Apple notebook power supply. $40. Works on Powerbook G4 Titanium & Aluminum and iBook G3 & G4. They don't yet have a model for the magnetic plug on the newer laptops. [gizmodo]
