World of Warcraft

Monday, April 30, 2007

# I downloaded World of Warcraft, and tried it for a few minutes. Looks potentially interesting, but would be a huge time sink. The installer is over 3 gigs. Took all afternoon yesterday and overnight to download. It has a special downloader, which loads directly from the web site plus from other downloaders via an included BitTorrent client. The first thing the app did was download a 160 meg update, which uploaded another 6 meg update. Then I was able to get in with a 10 day trial. It costs $20 to sign up for the first month, plus a monthly fee of $15 (or $42 for 3 months, or $78 for 6 months).
