Flashboom!

Thursday, September 27, 2007

# My Belkin 3-Outlet Wall Mounted surge protector likely saved my DSL modem last night. We had three lightning strikes very close to the house; the flashboom variety. One of them I felt as a static electric shock from my keyboard. After it hit, there was a hum on all the phones. I tracked it this morning to the surge protector. A $12 part gave up the ghost to save my modem and phones. I'll be buying another one soon.

# Lots of Mac news flagged in my Google Reader account, but no time to blog it. Converting a large system from one lisp to another (SBCL to OpenMCL). Hard deadline.
