On Friday, November 10, I ordered a new 20" iMac from the Apple Store. It arrived on Friday, November 24 (FedEx ground). This web site contains photos of its birth. Click on an image for the full 5.0 megapixel resolution version from my Canon Powershot A95. Click here for a nice Flash™ slide show of the images on this page. Here's the top of the box after opening the packaging container. Here's the side of the box that shows a side-view of the iMac. Here's the colorful edge of the box, with the intel Core 2 Duo logo, Built-in iSight camera with iChat AV, and Front Row with Apple Remote. Here's the side of the box showing a front view of the iMac. And here's the box edge showing the Apple logo. Here's the view on opening the top of the box. Taking out the keyboard and mouse reveals the iMac below. Here's the back of the iMac still in its wrapper. And the front of the iMac in its wrapper, with the plastic-wrapped keyboard and the mouse box. Opening the mouse box reveals the mouse, the remote control, and the startup documentation. Unwrapped and beautiful. I got a wireless mouse and keyboard. Here is the bottom of the mouse with the batteries installed. And the keyboard with its batteries. Here's where various cables plug in on the back of the iMac. Push the power button, and it's alive! My self-portrait. And the desktop ready to use. It's a 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 gigs of RAM running Mac OS X Version 10.4.8. (after update).
